US EPA Publishes Most Recent MSPG for Industrial Stormwater Discharge

In most states, EPA delegates the authority for regulating stormwater discharge to the states themselves. In four states, however, the federal Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) applies where EPA remains the NPDES permitting authority, including Idaho, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New Mexico (as well as in the District of Columbia). EPA’s 1990 stormwater regulations established NPDES permit requirements for “stormwater discharges associated with industrial activity.” EPA issued the most recent MSGP for stormwater discharges associated with industrial activity on June 4, 2015. Any regulated facility with discharges in these states should have applied (or should apply) for coverage under the most recent NPDES permit. This link will take you to EPA's Multi-Sector General Permit page. If you're not sure if you need coverage under the permit or have any questions, call or email GEOS Environmental.
