The Tennessee Multi-Sector General Permit (TMSP) expires on May 14, 2014. TMSP coverage is administratively extended beyond this expiration date, per Section 7.2 of the permit, until a new permit is issued. After the new TMSP permit is issued, a partially completed Notice of Intent will be sent to the permittee for correcting, signing, dating and submitting for renewing TMSP coverage. The existing Illinois EPA General Industrial Stormwater Discharge Permit expires April 30, 2014. According to IEPA, the permit will be renewed soon. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) reauthorized the General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated With Industrial Activity (VAR05). The 2014 Industrial Stormwater GP Regulation was adopted by the State Water Control Board on December 17, 2013, and the new permit will become effective on July 1, 2014. According to DEQs website registration statements for existing permittees are due by May 2, 2014. A new registration statement will be posted on the DEQs website in early February 2014. The Utah Department of Environmental Quality recently reauthorized the Utah Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (UPDES) Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) for the state's Group 1 Stormwater permittees (Sector P - including motor freight transportation facilities, petroleum bulk oil stations and terminals, the U.S. Postal Service, or railroad transportation facilities). The reauthorized permit became effective January 1, 2014, and expires December 31, 2018. Regulated facilities can submit a Notice of Intent, or check to see if they have an active permit, at this address:

The current EPA Multi Sector General Permit (MSGP) expired in September 2013, and EPA doesn’t expect to have a new stormwater discharge permit authorized until well into 2014. For new facilities, a new Notice Of Intent (NOI) cannot be submitted until the new permit is authorized. Facilities that have industrial discharges still have to operate in accordance with the expired (2008) permit. A letter needs to be submitted to EPA stating that the facility will operate according to the expired 2008 MSGP.
