GEOS successfully completes NOAA Project... GEOS Environmental, Inc. recently completed a project performed in conjunction with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to develop an historic inventory of Atlantic acroporid corals in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. NOAA is undergoing a status review of several coral species in Florida and the Caribbean. Data gathered and compiled by GEOS will enable NOAA to make current acroporid data available on-line, and is needed to support coral recovery priorities impacted by fishing, recreational, and coastal development policies. Work was performed in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands from January through October 2011.
